As an homage to the iconic Chanel surfboard, this solid marble surfboard is something of a paradox, a visual pun, a play on our expectations of material, form and function. A marble surfboard, according to common sense, should literally sink like a stone; but hung on a wall, the marble surfboard permeates a sense of weightlessness – which is to say, it brings both a sense of humour and a tranquil mood to its setting.
